As a trans person, I can’t. Ive met people who are right leaning who are like “oh, I don’t agree with it but you do you, i dont hate you” and I’ve made the effort to be around them/be friends with them. But I’m always treated differently. I’m always looked at strangely. They will say shit behind my back. Comment on my clothes, my body, my friends. I’m sorry I can’t be around people like that outside of a professional environment. Even then its pushing it.
Um. Woken having rights like the right to own a credit card without a man signing off on it was once a political debate. So yeah, I’m gonna choose my friends based off of their political views because political views can be fucking important Like whether or not, a woman has the right to choose what happens to her body. Or if your president is a rapist and pedophile.
I understand this point, though I get uncomfortable around people of certain political persuasions. I see politics as a reflection of peoples values, and if those values aren’t matching up it’s very difficult for me to consider that person a friend. Outside of settings where I am literally required to work with them, I find it best to avoid them.
pack it up go back to truth social or qanon or wherever u can easily stay in ur never ending pit of pro trump propaganda. seriously are unnecessary war, murder of civilians on american soil, and dramatic decrease in safety measures (like tracking food borne illnesses) not deal breakers for u all?
One experience? Do you just not understand how to read, I said I lived in one of the reddest parts of South Texas around a bunch of maga trash. I had to grow up being treated poorly because of what I looked like, I have watched kids of maga parents turn into horrific people. This isn’t just one person, learn to read bucko
i’m not suggesting you are racist. i’m suggesting you have the same mentality that most racists have. just because you had that experience in the south with republicans does NOT mean ALL republicans are like that. you just mad af i clocked you. you can’t have a black and white perception of politics. it’s a spectrum. people are so scared to reveal their views bc of how aggressive and toxic things get. ie cutting someone off solely because they voted red vs. blue is crazy work.
South Texas represents all of maga, what don’t you get. Vidor Texas a major maga city and a KKK capital of Texas, the kkk outright supports maga. Maga are the same people who wave the flag of the traitorous entity that wanted to keep people like me enslaved. You didn’t clock anything you just made yourself look an even bigger fool than you already did
see the thing is i’m hearing you, but you are not hearing me. in no way shape or form is it normal to think of politics in this extremist view. that is simply disgusting. it’s ok to be strong in YOUR opinions, but to criticize someone else’s is simply wrong. the fact that people get into arguments and physical fights each election year is truly disgusting and it’s the type of thinking YOU are displaying is why it gets so intense.
Hating someone because of their race and sexuality or immigration status is not an opinion, defending pedophiles is not an opinion, pushing the continued genocide of a country in the Middle East is NOT AN OPINION. You are simply a bad person and can’t accept that, you turn a blind eye to what your people stand for and just try and make it seem like it’s less than it actually is
You have no real rebuttal because you know I’m right, you have yet to prove me wrong about what I’ve said. There’s a new trump supporter everyday being arrested for SA of a minor you see them support a PEDOPHILE a PROVEN pedophile. You are just being willfully obtuse for the sake of your argument which has no ground to stand on
if u seriously think that MAGAism and trump aren’t extreme then idk how to help u. i’m a leftist, i can be friends and get along with a good range of the political spectrum, but MAGA is so extreme to the right that i have no common ground or shared values. there’s a difference between ur average moderate republican and a proud trump voter.
notice how people who vote red aren’t the ones wanting to end relationships over that? i personally would say i fall in the middle of the spectrum. i listen to both candidates and hold values from each side. maybe that’s why i can see eye to eye with everyone. but personally, i don’t let difference end a relationship. i enjoy being part of a friend group where we all have our own opinions and perspectives. however, we all manage to be respectful of one another. but maybe you just need to mature
when did i say that i am maga? i’m saying that people need to stop letting political views end relationships. i think that’s horrible, ignorant, immature, and disgusting. people are free to have their own viewpoints and shouldn’t be ridiculed for it. i fear that was common sense…. but ig im happy i explained it for ya.
maybe they don’t support everything he does, but voting for him does mean that pedophilia, 30+ felony convictions, inciting an insurrection on the capital, and constant lying were not dealbreakers for them. and even if u didn’t think he’d act like this, if u voted for him it IS partially ur fault that the country is like this today.
he does have over 30 felony convictions, he was good friends w epstein and in the files, and he did encourage the insurrection on the capital. he lies constantly and attacks fact checkers bc he wants ppl to believe him blindly. all of which u would know and understand unless fox news and newsmax are where u get ur news
no babes. i’m a reasonable, mature human being who has their own political standpoints. i stand in the middle of the spectrum. i agree with some sides of blue and some sides of red. however, i would never wish someone of either political party unwell. i hope you come to your senses one day truly.
I’d also like to add that in a better world, most people would be able to voice why they’re uncomfortable with people’s views in an attempt to foster an understanding, but I think levels of political polarization have made people hard-asses on issues, and again, because political views often sync with people’s morals and values, they’re very unlikely to change their minds, which is why the separation between different political groups is so strong.
