Genuine answer, could be for different reasons, but it might actually just be accidentally not unlocked. Most restaurants have an alarm system, where the passcode needs to be put in before a certain time before it automatically calls law enforcement telling them there is a break in, and the double doors typically have a “lock” on one side, which does lock the door, but isn’t locked/ unlocked with a key, a very manual keeps the door in place kind of situation, while the other actually requires

To summarise what 2 the other door lock is at the top or in different spot. The purpose is so the owner can open it first so the alarm does kit go off

The key and gets lockedd/ unlocked through it. The manual one is typically located at the side of the door, so to unlock it the other door must be unlocked and opened first, and they also typically at locked through some type of switch mechanism at the top and bottom of the door. Because it’s on the inside as well, the switches can be bent and messed up pretty easily, so it sometimes takes a minute to actually get it to u lcok

Anyways, yeah they probably just didn’t go back to unlock that second door and wanted to shut off the alarm before anything else. I’ve also heard some places alarms only allow the door to open so many times within the span of time you have to leave, but I’ve never worked somewhere with that. Anways, ~a key holder who has def forgotten to unlock the second door
