If the person is serious, this could be trichotillomania (something I have). In that condition, people pull out their own hair, and some do eat their hair (not me though). It’s really miserable- I actually used to be completely bald from it. So I get that it may sound strange but let’s not be rude since this person could genuinely be struggling and not know how else to express it
