You know the kids in Palestine have been watching people on the internet say that they deserve to die for the past two years? You know this one person dying is so insignificant when you look at the millions of innocent people who Israel has killed recently? He spent his career telling everyone who deserves to live and who doesnāt. And who deserves to have a decent job and who doesnāt. And now Iām supposed to feel bad? Cry me a fucking river.
God forbid, but If I had been killed out in public like that, the man youāre crying for wouldāve been arguing that I (a black immigrant woman) was probably a criminal terrorist and listing all the reasons I deserved to die. Now, Iām saying he didnāt deserve to die, but he is dead, and I feel no empathy for the man who said he didnāt believe in empathy, so IāM a bad person?
I personally think itās sick to say āHaving a couple gun deaths a year is worth it to keep our guns,ā but none of his followers seemed to have a problem with that until the person dying was their idol. And these people claim to be Christians but can somehow condone the murder of people who donāt look like them, and can idolise a person, even though we are to have no God but Him? Stop cosplaying Christian and crack open a Bible once in a while.
It is a perfectly healthy and human response to both be upset that someone was shot (because I donāt believe in gun violence as a means to solving problems) but also not feel bad because that someone made a career of belittling and spreading hate towards people who look like me. So, yeah, Iām upset someone was killed. But Iāll be damned and an idiot to sit here and mourn a man who wouldāve mocked me if our roles were reversed.
He was actually actively advocating for guns when he got shot. Like he was talking about how trans people shouldnāt have access to guns, but cis white men should (even though that is the literal largest demographic of mass shooters) and then he got shot by the exact same type of person he was saying should be allowed to carry guns. He said it was āworth a few gun deaths a year to uphold the second amendment.ā š¤·š½āāļø
He was a racist. He said if he got a black pilot or a black surgeon, heād worry that they were hired ājust because of deiā (like they wouldnāt have had to go through years of training to get those damn jobs). He was debating once that we should go back to how it was in the 1940s because black people were too scared then to commit any crimes. š
Let me ask you something. How many people do you think Hitler actually killed? Like he, himself, took a gun and killed them? Because I doubt it was much. What he did was inspire hate. I donāt know whether he believed it or not. He couldāve just been talking out of his ass. And Charlie hasnāt incited a holocaust or anything, but he and Hitler played similar roles to their political movements. They were the ones planting the seeds of hate and prejudice and doubt.
