When I say “pregnant person” and people correct me and say “You mean pregnant woman?🤓” I know they’re just being transphobic but it also gives the impression that you don’t see women as people???

Hey, hope your day is going well. I’m a trans woman… there is no world in which I’d be born and not be one. You wake up everyday and exist as a man without thinking about it, I do that as a woman. The reason that people likely think this is a choice or new is that medical intervention has only existed for the past 100 years or so, and I don’t speak for all trans people, but personally if I lived in a world without gender affirming care, that wouldn’t be a world I would live in any longer (1)

Race and gender are much different, but yes both are social constructs. However the body isn’t really dimorphic in race as it is in sex; for trans people there is a complex interplay of hormones that made them the way they are, but race is simply melanocyte production. But people do “change races” if you look at in a certain lens. Take Eminem, most of his friends are African American (AA) and he does culturally AA hobbies and advocacy. Did he change his skin? There would never be a world I don’t think where Eminem isn’t very culturally African American, the same way there wouldn’t be a world where I’m not trans. The current body plan and these people have strong desire to cut off their limbs. Obviously medicine can’t really condone that… this disease is tragic, many people either mutilate themselves or commit suicide as no matter what psychological interventions, the feelings don’t subside. Being trans is different though, it’s not an inherent issue with body plan as much as being also a disorder of sexual development. Current hypothesis is that neonatal hormone exposure pushes the brain towards this(4)
