there’s an instagram page called “indienightlive” that’s run by a band called Rohna from tampa, they do indie nights with like 3-4 bands all around florida. it’s super fun! Not punk but indie / rock

tbh my methods of choice are 1) flyers off campus (if you have transportation), 2)doing a quick google of like “[place] [type of music] scene”; this usually brings up a few things including reddit posts which are like surprisingly helpful. i can usually find 2-3 venues and like a club night using them. 3) instagrams or facebooks. sometimes you can find groups, plus if you find one good venue, you can usually find more by checking their following.

4) just befriend like one or two people even who are involved in the local scene and are chill. in my hometown i met like one person who went to local stuff and that led to me getting access to a whole spreadsheet of local shows and when they’re happening. also ive heard ypsi’s punk scene is much better than a2’s, but ive yet to fully check it out and confirm
