I flew to Europe in a suit and you get treated a lot better by staff and other people when you dress nice, from my experience

I certainly don’t agree with #1 here but it did _used_ to be very common/expected to dress up before getting on a plane. Nowadays it is considered a more accessible and not so formal occasion
