Should we not elect anyone Christian so they don’t impose Christian Nationalism? Should we not elect anyone Jewish so they don’t impose a Jewish Nationalism? 5:33 doesn’t not say “criticize” it says wage war. Meaning direct attacks on the religion. 8:12 you didn’t even quote somewhat correctly. Allah gives soldier’s strength in battle to defend themselves in the Battle of Badr. If you want to completely misquote that one, go for it. 9:5 again you’re completely misquoting. 9:5 speaks on people who attack their faith. It also says that if they pray, forgive, and repent to set them free.

Also, the Bible has a number of actual direct quotes that are bad as well. You couldn’t even do direct quotes from the Quran to make it look bad.

It’s even worse in Deuteronomy 20:16-17 “However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. Completely destroy them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the Lord your God has commanded you.” Read Joshua Chapters 6 and 7. God commands a genocide of the people of Ai and is mad at the Israelites for not killing everyone even if they believed they were morally good.

Are you using the Al-Anfal translation? you are right to say the quote was abbreviated on 8:12. the full translation is “Remember, O Prophet,˺ when your Lord revealed to the angels, “I am with you. So make the believers stand firm. I will cast horror into the hearts of the disbelievers. So strike their necks and strike their fingertips.”

It’s not about believing in Christianity it’s that a vast majority of government officials (right wing mostly) claim Christianity. Christianity is just as bad as the Quran on your claims. You’re making claims that are saying “only islam is the bad religion”, but don’t mention Christianity.

I never said it’s only islam but i would argue that islam is perhaps the most violent in its fruits. Well that and judaism tbh which is a wild thing to say lmao. Not saying all muslims as the vast majority are great peaceful people but unfortunately all things are judged by their fringe minorities.

You’re being selective though. You chose to address Mamdani, who no matter if you agree with this policies or not, is not a fundamentalist. He’s never lived his life in a way that aligns with the Sharia. You’re furthering that narrative by literally saying it. Do you not see how that’s at least selective? Im not religious and I see religion to be used for terrible shit. I’m not defending the teachings of Islam, but being selective of which religion gets a pass for their book… kinda hypocritical.

The OT and Torah are definitely exclusionary and violent, but people forget they are not one single book. They are a whole collection written by different authors in different genres over hundreds of years. People cherry picking the OT never bring that up. And honestly comparing the two is apples to oranges. The OT has not been treated as literal instructions from God for centuries

I’m treating the times where characters are given direct instructions from God as direct instructions from God. The God of the Bible especially in the Torah commands genocide of non believers and violence. I, again, feel like you’re being selective.
