And this is why I don’t normalize it. I don’t use it at all and I don’t respond to it either. Call me my name or don’t call me at all.

Linguistics. The severity of the word is defined by its usage and, as of late, I can really feel the difference, there’s so much derogatory towards women in it sometimes. But then some other ppl say it and it just feels like a synonym for dick or asshole. Its weird

bc misogyny. the world will always hate women, the men in these comments are proving your point.

It’s not the word itself being normalized that’s the problem, it’s the fact that ppl have forgotten the significance of that word and how negative it really is, not just the “b” word but slurs and profanity in general. People do not think deeply about what a profanity or slur word truly means which is why so many ppl swear and think nothing of it. Once we as a society start demonizing slurs and profanity then all of the words as a whole will ease.

yes it’s very complicated. historically, its been used as a derogatory and aggressive word toward women by men since the 15th century. it’s thrown around very casually by men now even if they use it as a synonym for a dick/asshole. but a lot of men still use it as a belittling and hateful word toward women, and it has centuries of aggressive power dynamics attached.

Definitely. I wish people would just be chill and use it right or not at all.

“not that deep” and women were harmed for CENTURIES by men, called b*tches by those same men. Being a woman was (and still is) an insult today. “B*tch” is the last thing MANY women hear before they are killed or severely harmed by a man (happy on the daily btw). You’re a fool.

B*tch has never and will never be a synonym for “dick” or “asshole.” B is rooted in oppression. B is the last thing MANY women hear before they are killed/ severely harmed by a man. The words are NOT comparable in the slightest, and you know that.

There is NO way to use that word right. No way at all. It shouldn’t be spoken by anyone and ESPECIALLY not men.
