Fun fact of the day: Neurodivergent and neurotypical are not used in medical, academic, research, or legal fields. Other than recent publications using them to relate to younger audiences bc of its use in pop culture. These terms were literally invented by an ableist “advocacy” group that denies ADHD as a disability requiring accommodation, but instead a super power and a gift. The actual validated term is neurodiverse, coined by Judy Singer, who does wonderful work.

Hell, even the adhd SUBREDDIT of all places banned the use of neurodivergent until recently for this exact reason. It’s meaningless, and harmful. But TikTok armchair psychologists revolted and the subreddit caved, so now it’s allowed. But before that their auto mod deleted it and redirected you to information about the bastardization of Judy Singer’s work
