It was reported to the police because the lecture was not a university lecturer but brought on by the student pro Palestinian group. The police were called to ban the “lecturer” from campus.

Not sure you call the police for that.

By a student organization. Then spent the entire lecture a bunch of antisemitic tropes like Jews use blood to bake their bread and that Jews run all the governments. Why are you acting like it’s a bad thing this asshole was told to leave campus?

I didn’t say it’s good or bad. Just not sure it’s a crime worthy of calling the police. Reverse the roles and see how people would feel.

If anyone came onto campus invited by a student group and they started giving a lecture that was filled with hate speech I’d expect them to be escorted off of campus. Also again they were not arrested. Police were called to escort this asshole off a private campus. They want to go have their hate speech lecture. They can do it off campus and not be affiliated with the university.

Again reverse the roles. The Hilal invites someone to speak. If that person is controversial , and students have done that before and they call the cops, what would you think? I’m not sure this is a reason for cops. But I get what you mean.

If Hillel invited someone to speak and that lecturer said that Islam is based off of canabilism and they are a pervasive force that runs all the government and banks I’d expect the campus to ban that person from campus and escort them from the lecture halls yes. Weird that you are more upset about a hypothetical situation and not the asshole pushing antisemitic lies guised under the title of an “academic lecture”.

So if the cops were called by others on hilel for inviting a speaker. I’m not here to determine truth or lies. That’s not how it works. That’s not how facts are established or denied. And it’s irrelevant. You’re saying if he said truthful things then it’s ok?

Idk if you are a troll or whatever. The facts are a student organization invited a guest lecturer to campus that then proceeded to give a hateful antisemetic lecture. Police were called to escort the lecturer off campus after this individual was banned from the campus. Create whatever hypothetical whataboutism you want. That doesn’t change the hate this person tried to peddle. If you have an issue with how it was handled take it up with the university.

All I said was this isn’t a police matter. If you think it is, ok. But I can see your point of view. You don’t see mine. Ok. I don’t have to take anything up. It’s just a view.

Police are called to escort people from campus regularly. Example here. Private campus’ will have police safely escort people from their property.
