You’re welcome! I honestly think this sub should be more open to non Jews who are actually here to learn and listen to us even if they don’t agree with the majority opinion. Unfortunately the people who are just here to troll and bait us make that hard

Two state solution generally implies a Jewish and Palestinian state, two nations for two peoples. What does a Jewish state actually mean though? There are lots of states with state religions and that can mean a lot of different things

Setting aside what I personally think (which puts me somewhere between non Zionist and Zionist because these labels are tricky), for American Jews the vast majority of people who call themselves Zionists are two staters. I literally haven’t met a Jewish person who is against a Palestinian state being established in my community

Not to say they don’t exist (they ofc do) but especially in younger crowds (like under 60) they are very much on the fringe

For hard numbers, I just looked up a poll from 2022 (most recent I could find with a quick google that asked this question). 61% of American Jews supported a 2 state solution, 15% a single democratic state, and 24% annexation.

They invoke all kinds of things to suit their agenda. But to many Jews, just like they don’t get to define Judaism, they don’t get to define what Zionism means. Other Jews have just stopped using the word Zionism for that reason tho

You’re probably right. My whole point is the word Zionist means something different to Jews than to non Jews. There are good reasons for that but that is just the reality right now
