The country not functioning is exactly what conservatives want and doesnât relate to Israel. If the US would take away from the money the cops, TSA, or us military get, we would have more than plenty to get healthcare and whatever functioning we desire and still have enough for military, law enforcement, tsa, etc.
israelis have state subsidized health care paid for by their taxes. the aid we send to israel is like 0.0000001% of our yearly budget and most of it is required to be used to by stuff from American defense contractors. the government does this because it believes it benefits the US financially and geopolitically. OP is right, the US is the way it is is our government, not a country across the world the size of new jersey. also, going to a place and talking to people is not a propaganda campaign
The island of Britain is pretty comparable to the genocidal apartheid state you keep describing as being the size of New Jersey. My point is it literally couldnât matter less how tiny Israel is when itâs doing the shit itâs doing and taking the money itâs taking. We give billions to Israel, with a B. We could literally fund the Medicaid extensions that have shut our government down with that aid alone.
itâs not mutually exclusive, itâs just that cutting the defense budget would free up a pretty significant amount of money while cutting aid to israel would free up a pretty negligible amount (in terms of what you need to run a nationwide system), so blaming the lack of social safety nets on aid to Israel specifically is incorrect. especially since almost all the aid we give israel goes to our defense contractors anyway
I donât think you know how foreign aid works. The us gives a congressional approved defense aid budget to Israel which is spent on us contractors. Itâs basically a us buy back. This is already built into the defense budget. No us tax dollar or defense budget money goes towards Israelâs economic upkeep or their healthcare system. This is easily searchable.
