zionism meant that Jews needed self determination after the Holocaust. But when Jew moved back to Israel it caused mass displacement of Palestinians. And the Palestinians felt kicked out of their land too even tho Jews once lived their a long time ago.

And this is exactly why nationalism is so dangerous and harmful. It oppresses anyone living there that isn’t part of their ethnic group

Jews were targeted by mass killing via pogroms a long time before Israel and as early as the ‘30s before the holocaust

Idk I am just trying to have a better understanding because i support Israel but also think that the way the state was created was also unfair to Palestinians and most Jews don’t seem to recognize that

Yea a lot of things are true at once. Jews were and are traumatized from having the majority of their population wiped out. Also there was not as much awareness in 1948 about the issues with colonialism and ethnonationalism

I mean Jews weren’t moving back to Israel for at least 40 years prior to the establishment of Israel without* displacing Palestinians. It’s only after the establishment of the state of Israel and the subsequent war that anyone was displaced.

True. But I also understand the need for a Jewish state. I guess there wasn’t rlly a place for Jews to go?

I mean there are several Muslim and Christian countries. So I do support a Jewish state

Obviously what happened then was poorly handled and continued a cycle of violence and victimisation. It’s up to us to work together, Israelis and Palestinians and allies to come to a solution that all can agree upon even while making great compromises

It’s not even like Judaism is the only ethno religion. It kind of embarrassingly stupid to not understand that at this point, especially if you’re a Jew.

Arabs collaborated with the Nazis and wanted to exterminate all of the middle eastern Jews after the holocaust as well, Israel won a war 1v7 miraculously
