Oxford just said Israel is a greater threat than Iran… but then again they thought 1930s Germany wasn’t anything to worry about

Hrmm Iran waging proxy wars in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Gaza. State sponsored terror attacks in multiple counties. 4 Iranian men were just arrested in London for plotting a terrorist attack. Oxford can go fuck itself.

I read a summary of the debate and it was very weird. They said Israeli aggression has killed over 1 million Iranians but as far as I know that’s definitely not even close to true and I can’t find any source that claims that

I’m not a fan of Iran, though I’m not sure if the comparison holds up. Israel itself has bombed or occupied Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and Iran. It has waged war against other countries, such as Egypt before normalization. How responsible Iran is for funding groups like Hezbullah isn’t as clear.

Bro there is no point of giving substance to some schmuck that underplays Irans proxy wars. It’s no secret who their proxy army’s are. They do not hide it. It’s wild you would try to say otherwise with your little disclaimer “I don’t like Iran but…”. It’s pathetic.

Irans proxy armies have been responsible for millions of deaths. Widespread famine in multiple countries. If you focused on actual news instead of feeding your hate boner for Israel you might know about it.

> that underplays Irans proxy wars I didn’t > They do not hide it Yes they send funding to multiple armed groups, from Hezbullah in Lebanon to the Al-Qassam Brigades. I did not “say otherwise”

> Iran’s proxy armies have been responsible for millions of deaths Do you have evidence for this figure? I haven’t seen millions of deaths linked to Iran. Does this apply to Israel, the US, etc when they fund groups and armies? Also, what do the 4 Iranian nationals planning an attack have to do with Iran being a threat. Is there evidence that it was planned by the Iranian government?

You framed your whole argument as if Israel is just bombing its neighboring countries for shits and giggles and not that or not based on the history of attacks from Iran backed proxy armies. Or the Arab league. You have underplayed it either out of ignorance or malicious omission. It’s laughable.

Are you fucking missing me? Iran backed Hezbollah killed ~ 500,000 in the Syria civil ware. Hundreds of thousands killed in Yemen by Houthis. 500,000 in Iraq from the Iran Iraq war

The Iran-Iraq war was directly between Iran and Iraq. I am aware of killings and famine by Hezbullah in Syria, what is your source for 500,000 people killed by them? Other than that, it does not answer the crux of my point (which was a question asked in that same section)

Hezbollah played a role in the Syrian civil war where there were 500,000 deaths. And the millions of deaths would be the total of deaths across conflict and the deaths from food insecurity sparked by those conflicts. The country has instigated multiple conflicts resulting in mass deaths and ten destabilization of multiple regions.

Hezbollah acted as the dog of Assads regime in Syria. There was a reason they celebrated Narshallahs death in Syria.

Yes, I acknowledge the atrocities committed by Hezbollah from starving Madaya to the murder of civilians. Saying that ‘Hezbollah played a role in the Syrian civil war where there were 500,000 deaths’ is a VERY different claim from ‘Iran backed Hezbollah killed ~ 500,000 in the Syria civil ware’.

Plus, that raises many questions: how much of a responsibility does Iran have in those deaths itself? What about food insecurity? If that’s the case, how does that apply to Israel and its destruction of healthcare institutions, famine, etc in Gaza? How about its support of Bosnian Serbs, who committed genocide? My point isnt that Iran isnt shit. I acknowledge it is. But to act like it’s an easy/obvious metric to prove that it’s worse or better than Israel seems to not be evidence based.

Especially given your comment about the four Iranian nationals. Again: is there any proven connection that this was orchestrated by Iran? Otherwise, it does not seem evidence based but just xenophobic

It is not xenophobic. The men were arrested under suspicion of state sponsored terrorism from Iran. You can read about it here. https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/update-on-counter-terrorism-policing-operations. The article goes into how it was an unacceptable threat from the Iran state. How the fuck is foiling a terror plot xenophobic?

> How the fuck is foiling a terror plot xenophobic? It isn’t. But that wasn’t my claim. Here is my claim: “is there any proven connection that this was orchestrated by Iran? **Otherwise**, it does not seem evidenced based but just xenophobic.” > You can read about it here Thanks for sharing the link
