Zionism doesn’t have to be for you. You live in the US, it’s very safe for Jews in the US. If you live in other parts of the world that become dangerous for Jews, Zionism is for you. Of course you’re not gonna understand Zionism if you’ve lived the most privileged life of any Jew in the last 200 years.
So you don’t like what Israel is doing— very fair and I agree, I HATE IT. But Zionism isn’t ethnic cleansing it’s creating a safe space for the Jewish people who have never had a country of their own until Israel. There need to be significant changes, esp with Netanyahu, but having a singular Jewish state does not mean ethnic cleansing. Israel is full of people from different religious and racial backgrounds and would accept everyone (obviously there are still racists but majority aren’t).
Of course but if we take more realistic action like working with what we have (a Jewish state) and working to make it fair and equitable— rather than eradicating it then we can get closer to a world that’s fair and has space for everyone. Everyone deserves a safe space and by taking away the countries that provide that for people we hurt more people.
Eradicating racism and oppression is unrealistic but you’re still gonna advocate against it. But equitable programs exist because they acknowledge problems that exist in the real world despite on paper there being no differences. You’re advocating against a Jewish state despite ethnostates being reality of the world we live in. It would be “equitable” to have a Jewish one. If you’re against that equity, then you should be against the rest of equity
False equivalency lol. What would be more accurate was if during peak slavery there was a nationalist movement for African Americans to have their own country in Africa where they govern themselves. Unfortunately, the back-to-Africa movement failed because AAs were mainly stripped of their connection to the land and so they rejected it. Jews maintained a connection and accepted it
