I have a question 🙋‍♂️. Why do people who dislike and criticize Israel call it an apartheid state? I mean if you really knew what apartheid was and looked at the laws and rights given to people in Israel, they are imo the LEAST apartheid state in the area.

Maybe because they live in reality

Not being allowed on certain roads and having your movement restricted based on your ethnicity isn’t apartheid? What does apartheid mean to you

I think there is a lot of confusion depending on whether you consider the West Bank a part of Israel or not

What’s happening in the West Bank is a sort of apartheid where Israeli citizens live next door to people who are basically stateless and have all kinds of advantages and protections that their neighbors do not

Within 1967 Israel it’s more like systemic discrimination and probably less of it than in other states with a state religion

As Israel continues to expand settlements and the government is open about seeking annexation I think it’s fair to then include the West Bank as part of “Israel”

All your sources reference Gaza though. Israel does not have sovereignty over Gaza. I’m talking about Israel where they are the sovereign authority. How can you have segregation over people you do not control. And what makes this argument worse is the millions of Palestinians who live in Israel with the exact same rights as anyone else Arab, Jew, Christian etc…

Your 2nd comment makes sense and yes it is a confusion on what Israel really controls. And if you wanna call it discrimination or unfair that someone have protection is fine. But apartheid has such little relevance to that. If anything it sounds more like imperialism

I don’t agree with this as much. If anything I would say it’s not fair to include the West Bank considering Israel had countless times tried to give it up to Palestinians it’s just been rejected

No, pretty sure it’s mostly the West Bank.. How does Israel not have sovereignty over either? They literally control everything in both regions? Water, food, movement, infrastructure, airports, freedom of movement…everything Also Palestinians in Israel don’t have the same rights as Jews. They have less rights and face systemic discrimination

Just cause Israel controls many parts of its borders doesn’t mean they control it. There is a reason there aren’t Israelis living there. There is even an official regime over Gaza that isn’t Israel. If Israel controlled it the war would be Israel vs Israel which sounds really dumb. As for the rights, this is completely incorrect. If anything there are even exclusive religious rights many Palestinians get that other religious groups don’t. Israel gives them their own court system.

They don’t have the right to self determination, they don’t have the right to return, limits residency and citizenship, they don’t have their language officially recognized. There are dozens of laws with discrepancies of rights according to ethnicity

Then there are many examples of de facto discrimination and oppression. Almost half of Palestinians with Israeli citizenship fall under the poverty line. Lower life expectancy, higher infant mortality rate, less access to education and resources, and less government funding. They do have right to self determination Israel offered it almost 15 times they just never accepted it. They don’t have the right to return cause a terrorist state is currently in authority. This isn’t factual. Israel doesn’t agree to that number at all if you did one second of reading lol. And it makes no sense considering an AGREED upon number of 70k total deaths a third of which are military so your saying half of all people not military killed are children. Anyone with a brain knows that makes no sense. The distribution would look so skewed. Also you do realize there are countless wars with mich higher death tolls so while yes this is bad it’s not nearly as bad as MANY others

I mean one Google search will tell you the IDF told Israeli journalists they acknowledged the 70,000 death count as accurate back in January and yes about 20-25k of those deaths are children, not including missing people (burried under rubble) and in total 64k children maimed or killed

Two of your sources are literally run in part by Jordan a country that has disputes with Israel. If you can’t find the conflict of interest there you’re just dumb. Your third source isn’t even in English so not sure how you can tell me there is a list. Here’s a bright idea. Go into Israeli law which yes can be found in English and tell me where it says Palestinians can’t do something or get less rights. We know you can’t cause it proves your narrative wrong.

Only one side of this war has come to the table to negotiate. Israel has offered them land like 20 times to end this war. Hamas charter up until like 4 years ago said they want to kill all Jews. If that isn’t apartheid idk what is.

If you really wanted to take an unbiased stance I’m assuming you have read many justifications for Hamas and what’s been happening so in order to better judge the conflict you should read something that attempts to defend the Israeli side. I recommend the case for Israel by Alan Dershowitz but there are others. If you read it unbiased i think you may find a more middle ground to this war.

Cause the stats are gonna come out anyways. If you even cared to read the report you would see the source they cited for that stat. Was it their own research? No it was the ministry of health in Gaza which have been said to be taking bribes by the way to inflate numbers. So stop being dumb and read your sources. It’s not the un saying this its a captured entity the un chose to cite.

Honestly given the destruction there’s a high chance that the numbers are a underestimate of the casualties. Idk how anyone can look at Gaza & think that a good portion of the deaths are made up unless you genuinely believe the Palestinians are just built different & bombs don’t effect them like regular people lol

But Israel won’t let foreigner journalists or groups into Gaza to do an investigation so until that happens we won’t know for sure & I can’t see Israel allowing any independent investigation into the deaths

If you wanna think that that’s fine I’m sure there are more deaths that haven’t been accounted for. Idk how many more. But I also doubt the number is more than 60k and that is a HUGE stretch in my eyes but I digress

Yeah cause most get shot and it’s an active war zone. Also it completely compromises Israel. You do realize Hamas takes hostages and tortured them for information right? And that’s not to say they haven’t even let journalists in with military aid some have been allowed. Once it’s over if Israel doesn’t let journalists in then you have a fair point but I guess that all depends on how this thing ends

Point by point: that’s not true, that’s not the full truth (you’re leaving out a lot), not a terrorist state, they don’t have the same citizenship rights, uhh Spanish should def be an official language here?? (Much of the US is formerly Spanish territory then Mexico), the rights aren’t based in religion, your sources are the pro hegemonic view & you should really challenge that, and black Americans DO have less rights idk what you’re talking about, Palestinians certainly can’t do whatever

It’s like you live in an alternative universe of cognitive dissonance bc you’ve been brainwashed so badly that Jews = Israel. Which is incredibly antisemitic.
