Halacha doesn’t pretend like the one single undisputed solution to save kids is a controversial decision that literally goes against what the Bible explicitly says. The Bible says simply cross dressing is wrong, and somehow you think it thinks gender transition is essential and holy? Such a stupid straw man argument
Whether a medical treatment is the correct and effective treatment isn’t determined by a popularity contest or whether or not it’s “controversial.” It is the most effective treatment determined by the same research practices as all the other medical treatments that we accept readily, including ones that involve things that are in other circumstances prohibited
If a medical treatment is “controversial” then it isn’t a universally accepted treatment, so to use a blanket statement like “Halacha says it’s okay because it saves lives” is a complete intentional butchering of Halacha. It’s like when people say tikkun olam means Halacha supports all of their political opinions. It just doesn’t work like that
I support people doing what they want with their life even if I believe transgenderism is sadly rooted in self-loathing (for some ppl it isn’t and I still fully support them doing whatever makes them happy at the end of the day), but I do agree with you on this. It just doesn’t work like that - and I don’t think we NEED to find loophole justifications to try to convince bigots who are going to be bigoted anyway. Just let people live their life, and at the end of it G-d will decide anyway.
Also “those are certainly all words” was a pathetic response to genuine argument. Even if you disagree with someone, being patronizing like that rather than just contributing to the discussion with actual facts and relevant reasoning loses your credibility entirely. Whether or not y’all think 2 is wrong doesn’t mean you “win the argument” because you’re creating this facade of moral superiority. Opinions are subjective and don’t give you any moral authority.
It’s controversial amongst the general population, not amongst medical professionals who actually have research and experience in the relevant areas of care Vaccines are also controversial amongst the general populace, they are not controversial amongst people with the relevant expertise and research background
You are welcome to believe whatever you like about “transgenderism,” but we’re not talking about finding “loophole justifications,” we’re talking about the imperial reality that these treatments save lives, with much lower regret rates than other widely accepted treatments. And in Halakha saving a life takes priority
