I trust mainstream sources less and less as they show themselves to be agenda driven and bought by foreign influence. Unfortunately independent sources are mostly worse, also controlled by foreign actors, or deliberately misleading. Most breaking news is a clusterfuck. Every outlet races so hard to be the first to break a story that their fact checking apparatus completely fails (Tyler Robinson went from being a trans furry to a MAGA voter who donated to Trump to having a trans girlfriend…

I really like the aggregator Ground News. It lets you see stories from multiple perspectives and gives a transparent overview of outlet bias, ownership, and track record of factual reliability. It does use a degree of AI so I make sure to always follow links to the original article, not just read the summaries.

in the span of like four hours.) I have a one week waiting period before I believe any information that comes out at this point. For politics there are people in the independent sphere who are worth watching but depending on your bias the names I give you would sound either silly or serious. Anyone who’s not lazy enough to actually watch testimony and read court filings and indictments when they research ongoing events is an okay enough bet that you’re not being intentionally misled.
