Reform Judaism is very disconnected from Jewish traditions, and thus lacks a good bit of unifying theology you see in more observant circles

I grew up reform, and I find it very connected to Jewish traditions… there are some archaic ones that that may have been meaningful once upon a time, but now they’re unnecessary, so they are not compulsory. The core principles and spirituality remain. How much people dog on Reform Judaism is kinda shitty.

Of the 3 main denominations of Judaism, reform is the most disconnected. That’s kind of a fact, relative personal experience does not change that

that doesn’t mean orthodox jews have a stronger connection to judaism than reform jews do tho. that’s like saying evangelicals are more connected to christianity cos they’re more religious. every jew has their own connection to judaism and reform practices and traditions exist.

Jewish *traditions* You can be reform and lot more connected to your Judaism than a random Orthodox Jew. But Orthodox JuDAISM has a stronger connection to Jewish tradition than reform. It’s in the name: Orthodox vs reform. Traditions have been reformed

Like what #2 said, maybe that’s your view of it but I grew up reform (still am) and have never felt disconnected from the teaching, history, or anything of the sort.

Actually very correct, regardless of how it sounds. Messianic Jews don’t practice Judaism, so they are not relevant to the topic

Did you anull your vows this morning? Get up for slichos this past week? Blow the shofar this whole month? There is a difference between being connected to your Jewish identity connected to Jewish tradition.
