I haven’t wore my star outside my shirt since October 7. I would love to show my pride in my Judaism and stand for what I believe in but I honestly fear for my life.

That’s why I wear my star and a holster, if you get my meaning. Ain’t nobody going to make me hide who I am.

I have a hamsa and also a pomegranate from an Israeli market with the skyline etched into the inside. Also Hebrew name necklace but I wear either the pomegranate or the hamsa every day because it’s not explicit enough for idiot low lives to recognize but it’s enough for me to still wear outwardly with pride

I’m happy to be open about being Jewish in public when there’re people around but at night or when there otherwise aren’t many people I try to be more discreet

I mean the hamsa also isn’t an exclusively Jewish symbol, so even people who do recognize it wouldn’t necessarily get a Jewish connotation from it

(Doesn’t really have a lot to do with that because I carry anyway, but it is a nice layer of protection when I go to certain places where people might go that route based on antisemitism)
