I’m at the very beginning of the Jewish conversion process. I really like the community at the synagogue I attend, but the average age is much older. Is it okay to attend events with Jewish student groups, even though I’m not yet Jewish?

yes of course!!! even if you weren’t in the conversion process, you’d be accepted. i have an acquaintance who isn’t jewish, isn’t even in the process of conversion, and comes to shabbat dinners, attends chagim, goes to jewish events, etc.

I’m from a city with a very small Jewish population, so there aren’t really any young professional/college age student groups outside of the university for Jewish students.

Probably depends on the student group but wouldn’t hurt to check. I intend to convert but our college’s town really can’t support it even in the beginning stages, so I’ve just been learning what I can on my own but Hillel still has been really welcoming to me.

You can absolutely attend Jewish Student Groups! You can always find online communities. If you are interested in being Jewish or even just wanted to learn more you are always welcome.
