Boravia is also very clearly heavily inspired by Russia, from the architecture choices and interior design to the president residing in the former royal palace to the name being clearly Russian/Eastern European and them speaking a language close to Russian. It makes sense because the movie started development during the beginning of the Ukraine conflict and people are influenced by the world around them On the other hand its also a fictional movie with fictional places and a different history
That was not colonization but an empire conquest. And yeah… that’s what I’m talking about too? It was a British mandate to become a Jewish nation state. You know like the Balfour declaration? It was not colonization. Colonization is a process that happens through the transition of feudalism into capitalism so feudalism existing does not make it colonization. The British colonized Palestine with the intention of having a colonial outpost in that region for strategic advantage. Realizing making it a Jewish state of European immigrants (in the first half of the century) the easiest way to do so. Disagreements about how to administer said state doesn’t mean it wasn’t the plan all along
