Yes, murdering random Israelis is antisemitism. I don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but no one is murdering Chinese embassy workers in the name of the Uyghurs.

not even just that, the shooter didn’t know they were israeli. he was fucking targeting jews and shot the first two he saw.

The people justifying these murders are disgusting.

It’s always been about hating Jews and never been about human rights… they’ve made this abundantly clear

Even if they were, it’s antisemitism

i agree it’s antisemitism but i’m saying he was targeting jews, not specifically israelis, and people are still justifying the shooting even after learning that the couple were peace activists.

Do we know that for a fact? Seems way too convenient that they were part of the Israeli embassy. Embassies have historically been targeted for political reasons

the event wasn’t even held at an embassy. it was held at the jewish museum in dc.

I’m aware? How do we know he didn’t know who they were?

i highly doubt he did know who they were. this isn’t the first time jews were targeted for political reasons and their only crime was being jewish.

I’m just saying I highly doubt it was a coincidence that he just happened to shoot two members of the Israeli embassy of all Jewish ppl that exist in DC when embassies and their members have always been known as political targets

i’m pretty sure he just shot whoever he saw, babes.

the chief of police flat out said the shooter had been pacing outside and then approached four people and opened fire on all four.

Yeah if anything that points to evidence that it was targeted bc he was waiting for specific ppl when pacing? If it was random he’d just shoot the first ppl he saw vs pace around..

he could have been pacing around because he knew what he was about to do and was nervous. it was targeted just not specifically the two victims.

I’m just saying we shouldn’t make statements like “he didn’t know who they were” like they’re facts when we don’t know that at all

right now, everything that has been released points to him not specifically targeting them and just targeting anyone who exited the building.

And from everything that’s been released I’ve made the opposite conclusion. Esp since he said free Palestine and didn’t target the other two ppl. So let’s wait for facts

He was targeting Jews and Israelis

he did target the other two, which i mentioned above by saying he shot at four people.

I can’t see what #4 is commenting but it’s wild someone is trying to justify the murders.

they’re arguing that the couple was specifically targeted and it wasn’t just anyone who came out from the event was a target.

And it just so happened that they tried to kill the first four people to leave.

exactly. the event was targeted but the victims were victims of opportunity in that moment. anyone who was there and happened to walk out were targets. sarah and yaron were not the specific targets.

Also knowing Israelis, it makes a lot of sense that they were the first to leave.

as an israeli, you’re not wrong. we only stay until the last possible moment at parties.

If someone was planning an assassination why pick two no name staffers. That idea that they were the targets and not just any Jew is ridiculous.

For some people, yes, for most people it is not. When you overgeneralize people by the worst of them you’re doing the same thing as the people who think all Israelis are Ben-Gvir. Movements and peoples are not all one thing, of course any human rights violations where the perpetrators are Jewish is going to attract antisemites who can use it as an excuse and propaganda opportunity, that does not make all or even most of its critics antisemitic
