I hope that Israel and the new Syrian government can reach a diplomatic settlement soon that includes protection guarantees for the Druze. The new Syrian president signaled willingness to cede the Golan Heights in a piece deal—despite him being originally from there—so they should be quite amendable to negotiation

I think Israel’s attack here was justified—although I would not say the same for the bombing of southern Syria they’d previously—but I think to say the Bedouin militants and/our Syrian military were “acting genocidal” towards the Druze is an overstatement of the facts. There was sectarian violence and the military that came in ostensibly to break up the fight ended up clashing with Druze and Israel bombed them to protect those Druze, it was horrible violence but nothing close to genocidal
