His father was Jewish but converted to Christianity. While Marx was hereditarily jewish he was raised In a Christian household and neither practiced Judaism or grew up in Jewish culture.

I just think as long as someone isn’t like racist in their antisemitism, then what’s the big deal? See, it’s okay to dislike people’s beliefs and everything. Beliefs are kind of a choice. You can choose what religion to follow. You can choose sides in a philosophical debate. Etc. It’s when you hate someone for being blonde or you hate them for being black or for being gay that things get scary, because then you’re hating people for things they can’t control. Marx wasn’t a racist antisemite….

…it seems like he was really just against abusive lending practices. Usury. He’s not really against Jews, but it just so happened thats at the time of his writing, the main lenders in Europe were typically of Jewish backgrounds, kinda like how nowadays in a lot of the US the Mexicans are heavily involved in the landscaping business. He’s really expressing disapproval of their professional practices, since abusive lending can be considered a great way to enslave people one by one.

this!!!!!! plus there are jews who look very jewish based off of physical features, and i’m not talking about ones in relation to our religion and certain sects (such as peiyot or a beard). shit, i’ve experienced racism for being brown and looking biracial. bigotry is bigotry no matter what way someone tries to cut it.
