Unpopular opinion but, kiss of life should not have been dragged and canceled more than people like Taeil were. I mean, even the idols involved in the burning sun scandal have a fanbase still.

here’s my stance as someone who used to ult kiof, they’re still considered a new group from a nugu company whose fanbase consists mostly of woc. taeil & seungri came from the big4 & big groups. they had a dedicated fanbase for years with some of those stans being male centered and misogynistic. let’s look trump, r.kelly, chris brown, diddy, kim soohyun as examples, society will defend a man more than a woman that’s not gonna change.

My point is that they were dragged so much online by netizens, much more than taeil was. I still see people harassing them in their comments every single post

Yeah, that was my main point. Women in general get harassed more for anything and everything. I mean looking at the two women in the burning sun case who were idols and helped expose it, they got harassed for doing that and more even after death.

yes, i definitely agree with you women, especially in the k-pop industry, do get harassed and scrutinized way more harshly. but I also think kiof should still be held accountable for perpetuating negative stereotypes of poc. both things can be true at once. calling out harmful representation isn’t about picking sides it’s about making sure the harm doesn’t continue.

Yeah I agree, I just think a lot of people went too far, they should be held accountable for their actions but I’ve seen people full on abusing them in the comments of their posts for months now. There’s a line to draw with that kind of stuff imo

Nobody is going to dunk on taeil bc what he did was so bad that it just feels disrespectful to get a hit tweet out of it. The best way to deal with his situation is to ignore his existence and quietly celebrate him going to jail. Racism however is often swept under the rug and forgotten about so people are making sure kiof don’t just get away with it like so many have before.

racism gets too overlooked in kpop especially regarding black culture that’s a literal permanent stain on their reputation that they’re going to deal with up until disbandment compared to other big groups that got away with it because their fans dont care

Yeah, like I said, they should be held accountable but the people sending them death threats and so on, shouldn’t be doing that. Theres a line to draw with how hateful you can be on this sort of stuff imo. You can hate the group for it but I think calling them slurs and telling them to die is too far.

I feel like I saw a lot of people making jokes of his situation tho, like a lot. Jaeil being one of them. Some even mocking the victim. Kiss of life should be held accountable but some are going too far with the hate, like calling them slurs and telling them to die and so on. At that point it’s just being hateful and not standing up against racism, people should always know what they did but the harassment part is too far.

again, if we look outside of kpop, there are plenty of people who stan celebrities and still send threats, break into homes, defame grave sites, unalive said celebrity, unalive themselves, stalk, send hate etc. some people just don’t have morals, and that’s the reality we’ve unfortunately been living in. there’s not gonna be one idol who magically changes the way kpop stans act. they tell idols to unalive themselves every day & bully them into eds they don’t care, and they never will.

Yes I’m sure some people are joking about and supporting taeil and some people are dtm to kiof. These are outliers and not representative of the general reaction that their situations got

Anyways you said that kiof got “cancelled more” than taeil which is just insane to me considering he’s in jail and they’ve gotten to 10,000,000+ streams and views on their latest release
