tbh it makes sense they wouldnt take her back, especially if they are taking legal action against her mom im also shocked they accepted hanni back, she had better give a big apology to illit.

they shouldn’t have accepted hanni back. how are newjeans supposed to interact with other groups now (especially labelmates). Unless everything is heavily scripted, I can’t see a safe way.

Friendly reminder the only people that need to apologize to illit is hybe for not taking care of them properly and letting them take the hit for everything that’s happened the past year

It’s been confirmed in Korean media. Besides, HYBE (Ador) does not publish information like this unless they already have the documentation/evidence to back it up. It’s how they’ve always moved.

Right. The only people that need to apologize are the ones that were instrumental in dragging illit online and in the media. What? That WASN’T HYBE? Also, HYBE is the corporation, like Disney. Belift is the music label. Belift released a statement about going after malicious, defamatory, or harmful comments about ENHYPEN and ILLIT. So, I guess they are taking care of them after all.

hanni was a direct component in the absolutely vile hate campaign illit received so yes she does need to apologize!

like how will illit and lessarafim deal with having to work around people who, wether directly or indirectly played a part in the hate they got.

Hanni needs to privately apologize to Illit and le sserafim (Hanni blew up the interaction with Illit so publicly (inviting bullying from netizens), like mother MHJ did) I don’t see how newjeans will safely interact with their label mates if Hanni gets off scot-free.

right! newjeans aren’t victims in their Bowing/“mistreatment” case (grooming victims of mhj, yes. this doesn’t excuse their irresponsible behavior). Kpop idols may be aware of hanni’s claims/actions in court too, and will probably be very hesitant interacting with newjeans.

also this is personal, but I know Hanni and LSF Yunjin’s friendship is completely over. Have you seen Illit’s reaction to the question about 2024 on Minju’s Pink Cabinet? It’s honestly heartbreaking how much they suffered in their debut year. I don’t follow lsf but whatever the idols have expressed, it’s done in a media trained way because they are public figures. (Unlike newjeans approach, sigh)

its absolutely heartbreaking what illit had to go through, knowing that the oldest member was 20 the rest were a bunch of teenagers facing such horrific hatred, when they never even did anything!

Hanni never named anyone when she talked about the incident, hype/belift are the ones that directly referenced illit which is the whole reason they got dragged into this mess in the first place when they didn’t deserve to. Hanni never told people to go send hate, that was people who live online and don’t have anything else better to do in life

when you are in a public position with parasocial power over fans, and put a spotlight on a group in a national assembly meeting about workplace bullying, which bullying is a huge buzzword in korea, you have to be aware of the negativity from fans you will be sending their way. she irresponsibly stepped on that stage, followed along with mhj and lied about the incident. she is partially responsible wether you like it or not.

Illit did nothing to deserve the hate that they’re facing rn, but to say hanni is the main reason for it is pushing it. A lot of this issues could have been fixed if they simply solved these issues privately . All in all, the higher ups like hybe/ador and mhj failed newjeans and is why this whole mess exists in the first place

Again she never named them, hybe/belift were the ones that specifically said illit, but yes your point of parasocial relationships makes sense

I also agree with a lot of these issues exist in the first place cause of people like mhj taking advantage of the girls and nobody seeming to intervene

but she would not have been able to make the testimony without the knowledge that the group allegedly involved would be outed, be it from official means or leaks it would have gotten out. mhj is my main issue in this whole situation and i feel for the members for having no reliable adults around them to guide them properly but we can only shield them from responsibility for so long. they made the mistakes and need to own up to their mistakes, and some of these mistakes have consequences.

Yeah that makes sense. It’s all truly unfortunate. while the girls may need to take some accountability, all of it shouldn’t be put on them. MHJ supposedly had their back but now she’s no where to be seen. She used them and it’s unfortunate that not just them but other groups like illit are being effected by it

all of it certainly shouldnt be put on them! i hope ador wipes the floor with mhj! but they still need to shoulder their responsibility for this issue, hanni needs to privately apologize and her and the remaining members need to publicly show growth, dani unfortunately must also face consequences even if that means she will no longer be part of newjeans.
