yet since he’s a guy there’s gonna be a million of his stans online making excuse after excuse for him but if a girl kpop idol is in the same room as a starbucks logo they are going to be harassed in their comments about it for the foreseeable future

Let’s not make this a gender issue. It’s a racism issue 🫩 He’s getting plenty of hate

if you are failing to see how those two things are interconnected then that’s an error on your part as well. you are not seeing the bigger picture here. writing off what i’m saying isn’t gonna make the problem go away. you need to do some reading of actual theory lol

yes they are lol. christian nationalism + right wing beliefs + gen z/gen alpha conservatism are all steadily rising. you need to interact with people outside of kpop

i interact with a lot of people, im rarely active in kpop spaces bc theyre toxic asf. ik theres a rise but his audience is kpop. kpop fans and religious people dont have a huge overlap

there doesn’t need to be a huge overlap. people in search for external validation of their beliefs are going to find it in any ways that they can.

in the south there’s a decent overlap. i went to a catholic school and about 1/2 (i’d say abt 300) the girls were kpop fans. ik it’s extremely huge but if my small catholic school had that many i wouldn’t be surprised if the overlap is a lot bigger than is assumed

maybe ig, either way there won’t be many people left after this. i do think christain music is a big genre switch from his original music, which is more what i meant but didn’t phrase it well. maybe there is a huge overlap between christain music lover and kpop fans, who knows. however, this imo will tank his career bc he has no plausible deniability with this outfit (he 100% knows) or an excuse that management/stylists/company made him do it. so disappointing.

yes there may be Christian music lovers who find his music, but people know him from kpop, so i’m not sure how visible he is in the Christian music sphere, and if he could break into it. also, not all people who listen to christain music will tolerate this nonsense either, so there’s a pretty small demo that will still support him imo, but maybe i’m underestimating

If you keep making it a gendered problem then the problem will stay. If you only compare compare compare, nothing will change.

Y’all are the ones who fail to see the big picture. The same way y’all defend girl groups, there’s people who defend boy groups. It’s not a gender thing, it’s a fans having no morals thing. No female idol has EVER been fully cancelled for anything, neither has a male idol.

yes his company’s response was horrible. in this day and age it’s very irresponsible to not look into flags/ translate what is on the clothes people will be wearing (especially if you are dressing someone who is a public figure/ dressing yourself).

Rude awakening for what? You don’t know what experiences I’ve gone through in my life. There’s nothing to wake in me.

I’m sure this is true in a lot of kpop spaces but not this one so maybe save ur energy in calling his fans out if you see them defending it instead of taking away from people actually holding him accountable
