i think idols shouldn’t debut until they turn 18, but that’s my opinion lol what are your guys’ thoughts on it?

honestly valid. Like 16 at the absolute earliest, but whatever is the age of majority in their home country (18-20) is best. like some of these kids are being thrown into the world's most toxic industry (entertainment in general, not just kpop) before they've even STARTED puberty 😭

Heck I wouldn’t even let training start until 16 you see what trainees go through?? Imagine that for a literal child!

Official Kpop training is acceptable for me at 16 but for debut I would say no earlier than 18. With a maximum of 10 hours of work per day once 18 and 6 hours during training years.

no yeah. they already need years of training and that rlly difficult. they should focus on school and living a normal life so that when they debut they can adjust better and have that proper education and knowledge. they could be able to cherish that bit of normalcy before becoming an idol, they’re children after all.

Dare I say I don’t care. These kids parents should be protecting them but if their own parents don’t care why should I?

i get wanting to have children play roles meant for children in movies and such, but the music industry just doesn't have any actual need for anyone younger than 18 😭

if a parent was abusing their kid would you not care about that child's safety just because the parents don't care? your comment is childish ignorant and selfish

But idol’s parents aren’t abusing them so I don’t see how the two are comparable. If their parents think their treatment is fine why should I be up in arms?

Actually I’m very against beating kids. I think it makes kids sneakier and doesn’t teach them anything, but companies aren’t beating idols soooooo
