Because I can acknowledge BTS's past mistakes without erasing their growth, their artistry, or the good they've brought into the world. Accountability isn't the same as permanent condemnation. And genuine concern about racism looks very different from using it as ammunition to provoke the fandom.

because of the growth they’ve shown afterwards. I’ve never seen another celebrity make half of the effort to grow from their past as they have, let alone ones that are as vulnerable with their journey with their audience. Maybe that sets the bar unfortunately low but they’re the only ones above it, especially in kpop

He’s the one I’ve seen the most growth from how do you go from a past like his to being one of the most kind and open minded kpop idols ever? I agree with the Chris brown stuff that was really ignorant and fucked up and I hold him accountable for that trust me but after 2016 most of the stuff surrounding him has just been hateful smear campaigns, those I’m gonna defend him from bc it takes away from real accountability from actual issues.

There is a large amount of fans that only started to care about important social issues because rm shed light on them, he’s literally what set the precedent for kpop fans being safe spaces and social justice warriors, which is why anything he does is set to a much higher standard than anyone else. Yes, this makes the Chris brown issue even worse, but in terms of everything before that. He was also one of the only and most supportive male celebs when everyone was turning on Meg the Stallion
