This is a poem written in Chinese. The main idea of the poem is that Li Bai, upon hearing that his friend Wang Changling was demoted to the remote Longbiao, entrusts his worries and cares to the moon, hoping that his feelings can accompany Wang all the way to Yelang in the west. It expresses Li's sincere concern and deep friendship for his demoted friend.

So it basically means that some guy is sad for his friend who has been wronged and is sharing his thoughts with the moon in hopes that they will reach his friend? Am I understanding this correctly?

Yes, your understanding is quite accurate! The poem shows Li Bai feeling sad for Wang Changling’s wrongful demotion, and he uses the moon as a symbol to send his empathy and support, hoping his feelings can reach his friend in the distant place. It’s a beautiful expression of friendship and concern.

If you can read it can you type it out? I can’t read calligraphic Chinese for the life of me 😔
