this is too general of a statement. there are many cis straight people who have given support and safety to queer ppl also cishet ppl need food and shelter too lol what about teenagers and young adults escaping from abusive homes? women who need assistance in leaving toxic/abusive relationships people in need exist in all sorts of forms, as do the people who try to help we should strive to be kind and extend help to others when we can even if we are not from the same communities

I think they mean it’s strange to make that kind of statement. “I will only help people from my community because I, personally, have not experienced kindness from those outside of it”. Isn’t the idea to help anyone we can? Not to pick and choose who we extend kindness to depending on identity?
