I *do* think that we need to tell young boys that it’s okay to be emotionally vulnerable. Avoiding toxic masculinity and all that. But that’s kinda a separate issue imo.

When people say male loneliness epidemic, they don’t mean teaching men to be vulnerable or avoid toxic masculinity or any of that. They just mean that women aren’t putting out for shitty men and it’s women’s fault that men are at higher risk for suicide.

I should also add there's a loneliness epidemic in general, not just with men. Loneliness and poor mental health are the result of a hyper-capitalist and hyper-productive society where you’re hardly rewarded for your work and have little time to enjoy life outside of said work
