The “Male loneliness epidemic” is mostly a skill issue, at least in my experiences.

I *do* think that we need to tell young boys that it’s okay to be emotionally vulnerable. Avoiding toxic masculinity and all that. But that’s kinda a separate issue imo.

When people say male loneliness epidemic, they don’t mean teaching men to be vulnerable or avoid toxic masculinity or any of that. They just mean that women aren’t putting out for shitty men and it’s women’s fault that men are at higher risk for suicide.

If the males are so lonely why don’t they keep eachother company

The solution to the “male loneliness epidemic” isn’t women. If all these men are so lonely why don’t they create friendships with one another? Oh because it’s just an excuse to treat women like shit and blame them for men’s poor behavior? Ya, that’s what I thought.

men are at higher risk for *completing suicide. women attempt suicide more often, but men are significantly more likely to die as a result. just a small correction but worth pointing out imo.

I always wish they meant teaching men how to have emotional skills (for themselves & others). That would be nice. But nooooo. And then when people come to me looking for support and resources for how to deal w how they were raised or avoiding falling into alt-right pipelines (usually other trans ppl), I really don't have much for them 🙃

See when I try to do that & get close to men (I'm a trans man), they get mad and I never understand why! Aren't they lonely :(

*We must dismantle those ideas, comrade. We all had patriarcal ideas ingrained into us in different ways that impact us and how we relate to others. It all starts internally (obviously especially true for men)
