I feel like you can really tell when people don’t actually see a trans person as the gender they are. (Suddenly when they do something you don’t like they’re pronouns are they/them even if they’re not)

Genuine question: I know someone who is most likely in the process of transitioning, but they haven’t actually come out with different pronouns or a name change. I don’t know them well enough to where they would tell me, or I’d be able to ask, but whenever I mention them to someone else I don’t know how to refer to them (like right now). Is it more disrespectful to use they/them or AGAB pronouns?

IRL I would ask them. Online use they them or ask. Do not use any pronouns but the ones assigned at birth irl. If they haven’t come out you are possibly outing them and putting them in a dangerous situation
