Once you find community, it’s so healing. Southern queers are built different. I spent so long yearning for the cities up north, but once I got there I found a certain culture that lacked authenticity imo. After returning to the south, I found such a deeply loving and open community of queers that I now consider my family. Highly recommend getting out there at lesbian & queer bars and finding local community events in queer spaces or for queer people!! Drag shows!! Art markets!!
