I had to get a whole ass pyrotechnics license to use fireworks a quarter of the size at my job and people think it’s a good idea to let people just buy and operate literal explosives for fun??? As much as they want and with no record of who has what??? it makes no sense. Anyway happy last day of having 10 fingers to someone out there

I’m against fireworks either way. The end result is nothing but smoke and trash. It’s honestly hard to feel too sorry for those who mess themselves up by playing with explosions.

happy last day of eyesight and facial structure to someone out there too! i’ve worked in an ER for six years and it is insane to me that fireworks are still legal for people to buy and use at home. use some sparklers, use some confetti poppers, get a cool light stick, but for the love of god stop fucking with explosives if you are not a well-trained professional

And they aren’t in my state, so everyone goes to the next stage over and all the stores themed around “just crossed the boarder now I can buy fun toys yay!” As a kid, I was ENTHRALLED by pop-its! And you can support your municipal park by going to their show put on by their trained professional. It’ll look much better than anything you can launch off the bed of your F150

if one can’t tell the difference between a mangled hand resulting from a heavy machinery accident or resulting from a firework mishap, maybe we should regulate fireworks and require licenses/permits for them just like we do for heavy machinery

I think it might also depend on how you define “firework”. The APA has a really specific definition that’s more than just “pretty thing that goes boom”
