i have never thought to associate lesbians with TERFs actually. thinking of it, when i tried to be on tumblr for a while, i think a lot of TERFs i saw were lesbians, but i kinda took that to be chronically online losers that are bigoted assholes, rather than "oh yeah this person's a TERF, obviously they're a lesbian too"

"trans exclusionary radical feminist" - it's someone who thinks all trans women are men (and usually all trans men are women, but they tend to ignore trans men) but call themselves feminists that are standing up for "real women" it's a lot of bioessentiallism that gender=sex and every male/man is a dangerous and gross monster every single time.

oh yeah it's very bizarre. you can see people more casually believing in it more often ("i don't trust him and think he's dangerous cause he's a man" whenever a trans man is brought up, whether or not they even know if the person passes) but there are die-hard followers of whatever that is too

I think the problem is alot of terfs co opt lesbianism: ie “political lesbianism” meaning they are still attracted to men but choose to not date them. Real lesbians do NOT excluse trans people
