I literally do not care what trans men call themselves, do whatever you want, it’s your identity, not mine. (Not a quote, op deleted the post)

“you’re invalidating them if you say they can’t use the labels they’re comfortable with” is wild

I get that gender and sexuality are fluid, and it's a live and let live thing, but why would a man want to use the label "lesbian"? like i get he/him lesbians, but if your a binary man then why the term "lesbian"? genuinely

I think they meant you’re invalidating other lesbians or the lesbian group as a whole, not the person using the labels

it’s more of an experience thing, like language grows and develops as people have unique experiences and need words to describe them. describing themselves as a straight man doesn’t fit right bc they love women like a lesbian does (idk if that makes sense, it’s not all 100% who you’re attracted to)

then we get into a label gatekeeping situation tho

I don’t quite understand. What do you mean by “love women like a lesbian does”? Is it possible for cis men to also love women in that way, or are they somehow the only gender group that’s locked out of this experience (cause presumably trans women and nonbinary folks can “love women like a lesbian does” unless you believe they can’t be lesbians)? /gen
