My favorite phenomenon is terf-y “sapphic” bars and spaces dying because they don’t accept trans women or queer men in them
A lot of people need to realize that the “queer discourse” they have online would literally get them kicked out of so many queer spaces. Like there will be a bisexual girl there with her boyfriend. If you can’t hang, get out.

this is a genuine question with no ill intent, but wouldnt it make sense for people to not want queer men in sapphic spaces?

Transphobia is a layer of misogyny is a layer of racism.

queerness isn’t binary

also erases masculine identity from queer spaces and opposes masculinity with sapphicness thus replicating essentialist social frameworks. many people who are afab and/or nonbinary present masc and deserve inclusion in spaces. men are not inherently unsafe or irrelevant either, again let’s not play into essentialism.

Also as a queer femme man, like I don’t fit into masculine spaces at all and don’t even have very many friends that are men. Very little overlap in personality or interests. And it sucks when you want to join queer spaces but you’re told you’re not queer enough, whatever the hell that means. And I’ve heard similar from trans men, trans women, and nonbinary people who want to participate in these spaces
