I think correction facilities need to exist in a limited capacity because the only other real option for some people is capital punishment, which imo the government should not be able to do. Ig it depends on how strict/controlling your rehabilitation facilities are. True rehabilitation is a multi-step process that begins with separation from society, so maybe the worst offenders could just stay in that step indefinitely?

But privatization and for-profit prisons both need to be abolished internationally. It’s literally just slavery, and it’s actually actively called out as slavery in the fourteenth amendment (which also says it’s allowable, which is batshit crazy)
