I’m not a lesbian however my formerly bi friend recently realized she’s actually a lesbian and from what she told me, being with men was always miserable and felt like a chore. She would also feel gross after hooking up with any man. She’s now in a relationship with a woman and I’ve never seen her so happy
I used to think I was bi but then I realized that sleeping with men made me feel disgusting and I only would sleep with men when I was really depressed. Looking back sleeping with men was a form of self harm and it felt similar to other self harming activities I used to do. When I sleep with women I don’t feel the same self hate. Since I have come out as a lesbian, I’m a lot less depressed and I think it is bc I have finally accepted myself
I never had a crush on a guy. Boys grossed me out. When I got older I saw a penis. I would get asked who do u like I would be like no one. They wouldn’t believe it. Grossed out then. Then in college saw many men naked in a college classroom making out with each other. No homo. My friend goes look he’s hot. I’m like ew gross. Saw more their dicks and I’m like absolutely not.
I think hookups in general are a form of passive self harm that people don’t really talk about. Not all hookups obviously, but I think back on how many random men I hooked up with when I was at my lowest knowing how high the risk of going over to a stranger’s place alone and under the influence was. But I didn’t really care if I got hurt/killed. Now I wouldn’t even go those places sober with a gun in the day time
That’s completely fair! I also felt the self harm feelings around having sex with 2 men I was in a serious relationship with. I broke up with the second one when I realized I was a lesbian and not bi. Like before I realized I was a lesbian, he was who I would describe as my ideal man and still being with him felt like self harm
