I’ve had a man not believe me when I told him I’m a lesbian and then avoid me for a month. Then we went out AS FRIENDS for condo de mayo and he thought it was a date…. Then got mad when I was talking to a (gay) guy I met at the party at the bar, and started yelling at me “I took you here and you’re talking to another guy” and the guy had to get in his face for me so I didn’t have to deal with it. WOW. how embarrassing. And I’ve told him multiple times before I AM A FUCKING LESBIAN.
It is rape culture and its very nauseating and disappointing that some women and a lot of trans people are out there pushing this rhetoric without a care for how it affects our safety and validity, but they claim we are “transphobic” for wanting to have our sexuality respected and validated by society. It’s like it’s never about us, bc we are women who don’t involve men in a sexist society. I’m so fed up with this shit.
So crazy that the story got a bunch of likes but the explanation of systematic and socialized discrimination is downvoted into oblivion. That pisses me off. This is a real problem in the light community affecting lesbians and it needs to stop and actually be valued and listened to instead of downvoted for no reason. The comment that mattered more got disliked and the one talking about a traumatic experience was liked. This is a perfect example of lesbians being discriminated against in the lgbt
