is it like.. ok if i decided to regularly bind and potentially take T as a cis woman? i don't necessarily want to change my gender identity, i just like feeling more masculine as a woman.

Fuck yeah just stick up for trans people and know it may be hard to get t. Also lie!!! If the only way you’ll be prescribed t if you want it is if ur a trans man, welp your a trans man now

woman on t for three years… yeah it’s the absolute best tbh. planned parenthood makes it incredibly easy to access gender affirming care. i don’t think i’ve ever been explicitly asked if i ID as trans (tho i would def say yes bc i’m not tryna fuck up my insurance coverage). initial appt they just asked abt my experiences of dysphoria, explained the effects of t, and then prescribed. i am diagnosed with gender dysphoria (which they have to do in order to prescribe).

It just sounds like your GNC, totally normal and chill when exploring gender identity

I felt this on a spiritual level, I’m so tempted to get a binder for this reason

i think everyone should be able to do this if they please. in an ideal world, education and common knowledge about this stuff would be good enough that this shit would be over the counter.

rarely if ever does it cause me any issues passing as a woman. personally i’m gonna start looking into electrolysis as soon as i’m more financially stable. i ID alternately as cis or trans, depending on the context. i view myself as a genderqueer butch woman. my experiences of my gender and my relationship to medical transition put my in community with trans people, and oftentimes it can be important for me to ID as trans and vocally support others.

however there are times that i know my experience is very much not-trans and it can be important for me to clarify that i am cis or to take a step back and/or re-evaluate my positionality in a particular context. anyway! totally up to you how you ID. just wanted to share my experience.

of course! i’m happy to share about my experience. for me one perspective that was helpful was the idea that i could just try hrt. there are some permanent-ish effects but they take a while to happen. the changes are honestly pretty slow, so there are opportunities to stop before they become harder to reverse. every week (assuming you do injections) you have a chance to reflect and think "do i like the changes happening to my body? am i still curious? do i want to keep going?"

there is a lot of negative cultural messaging surrounding hrt, so it's important to remember that if you try it and decide it's not for you that you haven't "irreversibly damaged" your body. trying hrt and deciding it wasn't for you also doesn't have to mean anything with regard to your gender identity/expression, it just means that hrt wasn't for you. conversely, trying hrt and having a positive experience can be absolutely life changing and life affirming.
