What? I didn’t say everything had to be about me? All I’m saying is that she’s way prettier than me, so if she’s ugly I must be super ugly. I’m commenting my own personal thoughts related to the post. Should I be commenting someone else’s thoughts instead? I don’t understand the problem…
Neither of your quotes make sense to me, nobody said any of those things. The post was “She looks like Donald Trump in a wig” (ugly) and I responded that she looks pretty. I then said that she’s a lot prettier than me, which is accurate. I was just commenting my own thoughts I never said I must be the ugliest cow ever and there was no conversation about a hairstyle
they’re annoyed bc the conversation was not about you, and you made it about you. usually nt people say stuff like “she’s prettier than me” bc they’re fishing for people to be like “omg stopp noo i’m sure you’re so pretty,” not to mean “i am the average person so she is by comparison above average.”
also to “should i be commenting someone else’s thoughts instead?” they mean you don’t need to comment every one of your thoughts when it doesn’t add to the conversation for the majority of the people reading. we have no idea what you look like, so your comment comparing her appearance to yours doesn’t say anything substantial to us except that you’re kind of forcibly making the conversation that didn’t have anything to do with you about you now.
