For context, I don’t hate myself, i love who i am, and I’ve liked my name leading up to now, it just no longer fits my gender. I want a more gender affirming name, but I can’t help but feel like changing my name would be like putting on a persona. I don’t feel that way about any other parts of transitioning, just w/ the name

I just started the easing into the transition. I started with changing my name at work when I started a new job and then I started only going by that name when I introduced myself to new people and then just kind of phased out the old name.

i changed my name like 8 years ago but admittedly it can take some time to get used to. it’s a little cheesy sometimes but a lot of people pick a name from media they feel tied to or some variation of their birth name.

the name i picked was the one i already used in french class (ik it’s a little stupid) so i was already a little used to people calling me that and it didn’t feel completely foreign to me
