I can’t see the original post but… we don’t need priests or churches at all.

You ever heard of a metaphor for the sake of a joke or is it your first time on earth

English isn’t my first language and not having the context of the post doesn’t help.

are you saying the LGBTQ+ doesn’t need this or that churches shouldn’t exist at all?

Not sure how baristas relate to being LGBTQ+ but we for sure don’t need churches.

yes, you can’t (fully) equate the american christianity cult with christianity

american christianity cult? bro christianity on its own is a cult. every religion is but saying churches shouldn’t exist bc of extremists isn’t right either??

well yes i’m agreeing with you, churches should exist for all religions. and (with a bachelors in religion studies) christianity in general is not a cult, even though it may seem like it sometimes

I don’t think religion should exist either but people deserve places to worship with their communities.

Jesus the people downvoting you for not understanding English as your first language genuinely suck.

Also I agree with you, I don’t think we need religion; I think there are ways of deriving all the benefits of religion (community, sense of direction/purpose) without the drawbacks (centuries of ethical baggage, the fact [at least the ones I’ve studied, i.e. Judaism, Christianity, and Buddhism] don’t seem to be true).
