nothing wrong with being a radfem! it’s not just the TERFs stealing the term, it’s our own community automatically grouping the two. That isn’t progressive, it’s just misogyny.
i HATEEEE HATEEE HATEEEEE how terds (terfs) took the term radical feminist. Theres nothing radical about what you’re doing— you are literally reinforcing the status quo dummy

Nah radfem ideology is inherently harmful even when it's "trans inclusive". It's based on gender essentialism so it still harms trans people and it inherently reinforces the patriarchy

lol lots of radfems are terfs though. And you can’t just call anyone pointing that out misogynistic either

Pointing out that some Radfems are TERFs or there’s a high chance they could be TERFs doesn’t equal seeing someone say they are Radfem and screaming TERF without actually listening to that person first. A lot of the community literally thinks Radfem and TERF are the same thing. They are not. That is just a way to shut down radical feminists, that is misogyny.

Take the common radfem viewpoint that men are inherently more aggressive, less intelligent, or more "animalistic" as an example; even when it's framed as a bad thing, the effects this has are the same as saying "boys will be boys" (excusing violence committed by men and letting men who experience violence slip through the cracks). Plus many of these views play into racism and contribute to oppression of men in already marginalized groups, e.g. black men

By framing gendered power dynamics and gender or sex differences as something inherent to human nature rather than something taught, we just make the patriarchy stronger and contribute to the social divides between men and women. Truly helpful feminism doesn't include gender essentialist ideas and recognizes that things like "women's-only" spaces are a very temporary treatment for some of patriarchy's dangers (with many problems of their own even if 'trans-inclusive'), not a long-term cure. :)

Not all radfem ideology is based on inherent, “male born” traits. Some people understand it’s socialization. Some radfem theory is critically important in my opinion. And i hate the “it makes patriarchy stronger” bc again, that’s just a way to shut it down. It absolutely doesn’t make the patriarchy any stronger than upholding the norm does.

I, personally, haven’t seen any Radfems single out the race of men when they discuss violence. That isn’t just a radfem, it is a racist. Radical feminism is feminism born through hundreds of years of oppression. A trans inclusive radfem protects trans women bc she sees all women as an oppressed being. Now obviously there are terfs who play into “male brain” or whatever but that’s nonsense, same with the racism.
