something you could say when you speak to your partner is to make it clear that you trust them 100% but that you feel better if certain language is just kept between the two of you its not an unreasonable or uncommon boundary so I'm sure they'll understand

I’m part of a friend group where I’m the mutual friend, and we make romance jokes with each other frequently. I’m saying this because if I ever discovered that either of them was uncomfortable, I’d stop immediately and never do it again. It’s important to voice your opinion on that, even if it’s just a joke between them
