My friends made a cake for our friend who got surgery! That was cute. (Unfortunately they didn’t give me one when I got my surgery :/ oh well) Other advice: long phone charger. Longer than that. Eeeven longer. Perfect. If he's gotta be elevated at night, sorting that out beforehand is extremely helpful. I used an old rocking chair & we pillowed & blanketed it up until comfortable. Also, anything in the house above chest height is unreachable. As in, don't let him reach it. He may try. 🚫

I’m currently recovering from a similar surgery! Seconding the long phone charger, also getting a portable charger and charging it for him when you can. A grabber for anything above chest height or on the floor is great. He won’t be able to put on t-shirts for a while, so make sure he has plenty of clean button-ups. Stocking up on a couple of ensure pluses would be nice too as they’re high cal and high protein and easy to drink if you’re nauseous post-op. Best of luck to him!
